The time is coming. We’re starting to become more conscious of what we do to our planet and how gently we should treat it, every day. More people are taking the time to recycle, including using reusable goods in their day-to-day lives, ending their reliability on single-use plastics and picking up after themselves, and sometimes, yes, even after others. This Earth Day seems more relevant than ever, as climate change becomes more apparent (please, no more snow in April).
Officially, Earth Day is Sunday, April 22, but the Belle Isle Conservancy will be celebrating Earth Weekend on Belle Isle with their Spring Clean Up. Starting at 8am on Saturday the 21st at the Athletic Complex, volunteers can register and check-in to help keep our island state park beautiful. Make sure to bring work gloves and a rake, leaf blower or other outdoor cleanup supplies.

Come with us, friends, and let’s make the difference. We owe it to our city and our planet to keep it beautiful.
