Formerly known as Simone DeSousa Gallery, Matéria is a gallery and project space that has dwelled in Cass Corridor, Midtown Detroit since 2009. Check out their EDITION pop-up space, next door to Matéria’s Core City location.
Matéria opened its second location in Core City Detroit last fall. Matéria has regular hours from Thursday-Saturday 12-7 pm and by appointment. They present an ever-changing curation of contemporary art and design that is both collectible and accessible. I.M. WEISS GALLERY
I.M. Weiss is one of the many art galleries in Detroit that focuses on contemporary craft disciplines, particularly an amalgamation of artists & ideas that make compelling objects. It’s only fitting that we continue to celebrate Detroit design this September marking the 10th consecutive year the gallery has presented at Detroit Month of Design x Design Core Detroit. NEXT:SPACE was founded in 2014, by Isabelle Weiss, an accredited appraiser and contemporary fine/decorative arts specialist in Detroit.
