From 7 AM to 5 PM, you’ll have the day to spend shopping for only the best of Metro Detroit Flower Growers Association (MDFGA) with vendors from all over the Midwest. Join in on fun festivities that will also be happening for all ages. May is the time to plant and watch the beauty grow.

WHAT GOES ON IN EASTERN MARKET?
When: The Sunday after Mother’s Day from 7 AM – 5 PM
For any first-time visitors or those still with curiosity, Eastern Market is a destination spot in the heart of the city with fresh food, restaurants, businesses, art, and culture that has flourished for over 150 years. Flower Day takes place every year on the Sunday after Mother’s Day. Celebrate Flower Day 2024 by exploring the bountiful selection of flowers that growers carry at great value, especially for first-comers. In partnership with MDFGA, members from Michigan, Ontario, and neighboring states are able to gather every year to share the wide space and bring the best of the region’s flora. With over 15 acres of flowers from vendors all over the Midwest, Flower Day draws in a buzzing crowd each year for its iconic tradition. However, the popularity can be too much for some people. There are still a few of the four Flower Tuesday Markets left that may suit those looking for smaller crowds. Celebrate Flower Day 2024 on May 14, 21, & 28 from 9 am – 3 pm at Eastern Market-Sheds 5 & 6. Enjoy prime parking at Tuesday Markets and choose flower selections from Eastern Market growers.

This guided event list to celebrate Flower Day 2024 at Detroit’s Eastern Market wouldn’t be complete without showcasing this piece of art which is a celebratory moment in itself. Take a moment to appreciate this year’s Flower Day 2024 poster, designed and printed by Detroit designer, muralist, and illustrator, Ndubisi Okoye (IG: @n_du_time). Posters will be available for purchase on Flower Day, Sunday, May 19th at the Eastern Market merchandise booth along with other Flower Day merchandise.

What makes Flower Day 2024 at Detroit’s Eastern Market so special is that there are multiple options to shop for flowers throughout May that are both big and small. Celebrate Flower Day 2024 in Detroit’s Eastern Market at the recurring weekend market. The Saturday Markets are a great chance to visit weekly throughout the Flower Season. Flowers will also be available for purchase in person. Keep in mind that Saturday is the biggest market with the most produce options.
