Detroit Immigrant Heritage Month events invite us all to continue celebrating everyone this June with special programs and organization support that highlight the best community involvements throughout the month. Since 2014, Immigrant Heritage Month has been observed annually throughout June. Learn more about the historic experiences of immigration and the range of immigrants in the United States. Respectfully celebrate the contributions immigrants have had on American society and get others involved in appreciating the rich cultural influences.

Now is the time more than ever to make your individual story, ancestral roots, and citizenship rightfully heard while demanding better leadership in law enforcement. Regardless of political standing, humanity works best when people feel like they belong in our country. Current changes in laws and deportations are leaving the nation torn this year, so it’s critical that we stand together in an empowering call to action. Michigan, Detroit, and metro Detroit are celebrating! Check out events and information in your area.

Explore and be proud of your own heritage and continue sharing your stories. Detroit’s small business owners & entrepreneurs come from a wide variety of backgrounds, including immigrant families. Detroit Immigrant Heritage Month events are going strong with in-person community gatherings of all kinds. TechTown Detroit for Immigrant Heritage Month: Legacy Across Borders. Join in on a special evening with Detroit, dedicated to celebrating the vibrant stories, cultures, and entrepreneurial journeys of immigrant and first-generation business owners. This communal gathering focuses on uplifting founders, community leaders, and supporters for a night of inspiration and connection. The evening begins with a panel discussion featuring local leaders from entrepreneurial support organizations sharing insights on resilience, growth, and building businesses in Detroit. DETROIT’S IMMIGRATION HISTORY & OTHER DETROIT ORGS THAT ADVOCATE YEAR-ROUND

This list of Detroit Immigration Heritage Month events is meant to inform the Detroit community on ways to actively participate in this month’s programs as well as learn about how these individual stories have been shaping Detroit’s rich cultural history and the city’s overall development. Detroit’s immigrant history is rich! Get to know more of the immigrants and their families still residing in the city. Many flags are proudly waved here and several stem from the mixture of immigrants from various countries.

The conversation and advocacy doesn’t stop after June. Feel more involved and connected with the local Detroit community of immigrants by researching the ongoing engagement with supportive non-profit organization efforts. These local orgs and the wider government resources in Michigan promote advocacy, diversity, and inclusion.
