Paddle to Hell

Join Riverside Kayak Connection and Friends for our annual Paddle to Hell (And Back). Join us at the Pinckney Recreation Area (Bruin Lake Campground) all weekend, or just on Saturday, October 6, 2018 for the paddle. This is a great event to meet new kayakers and enjoy the fall colors.

Several kayakers will stay at Bruin Lake Campground Friday, October 5 – Sunday, October 7, 2018. There will be a pot luck and campfire Saturday evening.

Route: Paddle from Bruin Lake State Park (launch from the boat ramp) thru Halfmoon and Hi-Land Lakes to Hell, Michigan. We will get out at the dam at Hell and have lunch (on your own) at one of the local establishments. After lunch we will paddle back to the Bruin Lake State Park.

Parking: Available at the top of the drive to the Bruin Lake Campground boat launch. If you have your own kayak please drop your kayak off near the boat ramp and park your vehicle to leave room for other boaters to use the ramp.

Lunch: In 2015, 2016 and 2017 the group has eaten lunch at the Hell Hole Diner. The Hell Hole Diner charges a fee for credit cards so we recommend bringing cash. After lunch we stop by Screams for an ice cream cone and to buy souvenirs.

Bruin Lake Campground is a Michigan State Park and all vehicles will require a State of Michigan Recreation Passport.

Cost: $40 Per Person for Kayak Rental

Rental kayak is only for Saturday, October 8th paddle. All RKC kayaks for group paddles are single kayaks. During registration you will be asked for your height and weight so we may bring an appropriate kayak.

Free with Your Own Kayak

All personal kayaks are welcome on this paddle.
