Pure Detroit Corrado Parducci Tour
Come meet architectural sculptor Corrado Parducci — the man responsible for much of the beauty of downtown Detroit’s architecture.
Over a 60 year career, the Detroit-based Parducci detailed 600 buildings from coast to coast adding visual interest to many great structures. You’ll see his work on about a dozen of buildings featuring a whole language of symbols and meanings done in many different materials and styles.
Buildings featured on the tour include many of Detroit’s greatest architectural hits including the Guardian Building, Penobscot, Buhl, St. Alouysius Church, David Stott, Theodore Levin US Courthouse, Bankers Trust and a handful of other small but still significant buildings in the heart of downtown.
The tour is free & open to the public of all ages. Photography is allowed.
This 60-minute long walking tour leaves rain or shine from the Pure Detroit shop inside the Guardian Building (500 Griswold).
Sign up is available inside the Pure Detroit shop upon arrival.
The tour will be conducted by historic preservationist and urban planner Michael Boettcher.
