Pure Detroit Lower Woodward Corridor Tour — Saturday, August 16 @ 3pm
So you think you know Woodward?
With Hudson’s right in the center of it all, Woodward between Campus Martius and Grand Circus Park was the real heart of Detroit for decades.
Learn how things grew from the 1880s to the mid-20th century. Witness the changes in architecture, design tastes and building uses over the years. And, most importantly, how are things improving again today?
In addition, you’ll see where the very first Pure Detroit opened its doors 15 years ago and how the Woodward Plan dictated street and park patterns in the area.
Patrons of the tour will be able to soak up the urban splendor of Campus Martius Park in the heart of downtown Detroit.
This tour will be conducted by historic preservationist and urban planner Michael Boettcher.
The tour will begin at 3pm at our Pure Detroit shop in the Guardian Building (500 Griswold). Sign up is available once you arrive. The tour will last roughly 60 to 75 minutes.
Metered parking is available on Congress and Griswold Streets.
See you this Saturday!
