Celebrate Giving Tuesday in metro Detroit by giving extra attention to the growing minds of our future. Lawrence Technological University has been partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan for the past year. Together, they host the Lunch Buddies program at McIntyre Elementary in Southfield. Mentorship opportunities extend beyond the LTU community. The partnership began with an informational event and pilot program in 2024 and continues to grow. Mentorship spots are still available both within the LTU community and across the greater Metro Detroit area. This year’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan program began Oct. 28 at LTU but mentors are always welcome. Lawrence Technological University students, staff or faculty can sign up HERE.

This National Latina organization makes it their mission to empower Latinas through leadership development, community service, education, and advocacy. Give on December 3rd during Giving Tuesday. #GivingTuesdayDetroit is the local expression of the global Giving Tuesday campaign in Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne Counties in Michigan. Did you know that this is Southeastern Michigan’s biggest local giving day of the year? We’ve mentioned a few ways to help people in the local area, but don’t forget about the animals!
