This year’s Detroit Christmas tree lighting with be virtual, and no doubt just as beautiful. Tune in tonight at 7:30 p.m. for a televised lighting ceremony on WXYZ-TV Channel 7. If you can’t tune in for the virtual event, hop in the car in the evening this weekend and check out the beautiful lights as you drive through the city. EXPLORE THE DEQUINDRE CUT
Get outside before the snow arrives in Detroit this weekend! If you weren’t able to enjoy the nice weather today, head outside tomorrow and throw on another layer to explore the Dequindre Cut! This two-mile urban recreational path was completed in 2009 and connects Eastern Market, Lafayette Park and the east riverfront – and it’s bike friendly! The path offers a unique perspective of the city of Detroit and is sure to add a compelling outlook to your view of the city. Be sure to head there now before the weather stops you!

The Magic of Lights is a spectacular 1.5 mile drive-through holiday lights display featuring various holiday themed light displays using the latest LED technology and digital animations. DINE OUTDOORS IN AN IGLOO
A great way to experience the winter wonderland at Beacon Park and stay socially distant! Lumen is well known in Detroit as a hotspot for igloos and chalets that are perfect for getting in the holiday spirit and dining outdoors, abiding by the new epidemic orders. While indoor dining is closed, the patio and igloos will remain open.
