Prepare your tastebuds – Guy Fieri’s Flavortown has made its debut in Metro Detroit. The ghost kitchen will serve delectable dishes after being prepared in local restaurants

What is a ghost kitchen? Ghost kitchens, (otherwise known as cloud, host or virtual restaurants) offer only delivery and sometimes carryout. Although the concept was introduced long before pandemic, the COVID-19 outbreak has now fueled the fire that drives the apparent success behind Ghost kitchens. Because dining has looked so different the last year, ghost Kitchens have seen success in offering a safe delivery option, allowing diners to still enjoy restaurant food.
“The stratospheric rise in online ordering and food delivery during the pandemic has prompted restaurateurs to chase those delivery dollars in a number of novel ways, and not open bricks-and-mortar locations” says The Washington Post.
Guy Fieri, a well-known successor from the Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Drives” is following the trend by bringing four ghost kitchens to the Metro Detroit area. These ghost kitchens will operate under the name of Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen.
Dining enthusiasts can find Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen’s at Bravo! Italian Kitchen in Rochester Hills (located at 286 N Adams Rd) Lansing (located at 2970 Town Centre Blvd and Livonia (located at 17700 Haggerty Rd), as well as Brio Italian Grille in Sterling Heights (located at 17430 Hall Rd). All participating locations will be delivery only, although indoor dining has resumed in Michigan until March 25.
Currently, the Bravo! Italian Kitchen located in Livonia is the only location accepting orders. The remaining locations are planning to open in the upcoming weeks, and are still in a ‘soft launch phase’.
Menu items include shareables Jalapeno Pig Poppers, S-M-Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Wings, Queso Dip with Tortillas, as well as an assortment of Burgers & Sandwiches, Entrees & Salads, sides, desserts and of course, Donkey Sauce. Orders can be placed via Postmates, Uber Eats, Grubhub, other participating food delivery services or via the Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen website.
The website describes Flavortown as “a delivery only restaurant featuring real-deal flavors from Chef Guy Fieri. From our signature Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Wings to our award winning Mac N Cheese Burger, all of Flavortown’s favorites come straight to your doorstep.”
