A summer night, filled with the smell of popcorn and the brightness only the big screen can bring, is always well spent at an outdoor theater. For those of us wary of COVID-19’s Delta variant, or for those of us who strictly want to spend as much time out of doors as possible before the weather turns chilly, drive-ins are a fantastic solution for evening entertainment. To cut down on your search time, here are six Metro area outdoor theaters where you can grab tickets now.

THE FILM LAB

The Film Lab isn’t a fully outdoor theater, but it offers the option in a futuristic and neighborhood-friendly manner. This theater is a micro-theater that shows interesting, thought-provoking, and unique films, as well as locally curated media and short films. The Film Lab is located in Hamtramck, and its outdoor patio space, complete with a big screen and personal headphones for each viewer to minimize neighborhood disruption, is tucked just off of Holbrook Ave. Craft Cocktails as well as a few light snacks, including popcorn, of course, are available to order both indoors and out during film showings. Check out The Film Lab’s upcoming schedule!

You can find The Film Lab at: 3105 Holbrook Ave, Hamtramck, MI 48212
