Join The Carr Center and Bedrock Detroit for a Black History Month exhibit where you’ll get to witness art of all mediums from over 100 Detroit-based artists and performers. Enjoy engaging programs that merge the Detroit community through generations. Everyone can partake in visual art competitions, performing arts presentations, and spoken word poetry. What better way to engage in the Detroit community than immersing oneself in the influential beauty of murals, specifically The iconic Detroit Industry Murals? Join the Cranbrook Art Museum and the Detroit Institute of Arts curators for a panel discussion in the heart of DIA’s Rivera Court, the location of the sprawling Diego Rivera’s Detroit Industry Murals. You’ll also hear from Sydney James, Hubert Massey, and Mario Moore. This organized event accompanies the Cranbrook Art Museum’s exhibition Skilled Labor: Black Realism in Detroit. This one-day family book event is a great opportunity to meet over 30 talented independent authors of adult & children’s books from across the country and purchase their autographed books.
