Summer is great to spend more time outdoors…and with your dog! You and your favorite companion can take mini adventures around the city and stay awhile at these dog parks in Detroit. Many of these dog parks are free and three of them let your dog be off-leash for extra fun. Some have separate areas for small and large dogs, while others have no separation.

Detroitisit rounded up a list of the best dog parks in Detroit to let your dog roam and feel free.

DETROIT DOG PARK

Starting off this list of dog parks in Detroit is none other than the spacious, Detroit Dog Park. This is a great spot for your doggie to play off-leash right here in the city. There’s just no separation area for large and small dogs, nor is there water access at this park. Bring water for your pup and let the action begin! All sizes of dogs are welcome, as long as they’re licensed and vaccinated.

ROSE PARK

This dog park is perfect if you’re just looking for simplicity. You may even have the park to yourself! Let your dog run to get out energy at this small, well-maintained neighborhood dog park. It’s connected to Scripps Park, both of which are clean and offer shade. Rose Park has separate areas for little dogs and big dogs areas. There are also plenty of poop bags and pails at this park.

MIDTOWN DOG PARK

If your dog really loves to play, then check out Midtown Dog Park. This perfect location attracts many dogs that frequently love to visit. This park offers plenty of obstacle-like items that dogs can go through and jump on. There are also water stations and three pickup stations, so no need to bring bags. It does tend to get a little rowdy when it’s busy.

GRAND CIRCUS DOG PARK

Your dog will have a grand time at this relatively small dog park. This may be a better option if you’re not too keen on interacting with a lot of other dogs and people. You can enjoy a nice seat with some shade. This area is also a nice place for walking around to admire the art at Grand Circus Park. Since it is downtown, you may find it a bit tricky to find parking.
