Cinco de Mayo is just a few days away, but worry not, we’ve got your celebratory cocktail needs covered! Here are some delicious cocktails to cure your tequila cravings and spice up your classic Margarita. Grab a glass, shaker tins, and ingredients, and let’s get shakin’!

SPICY MARGARITA

If margs are your thing, like they are ours, you’ll love Liquor.com’s spicy rendition of the scrumptious classic. The jalapenos, muddled in the shaker tins prior to mixing the cocktail, add the perfect level of spice to heat up your cheeks, but not burn your tongue. Who doesn’t want some spice after a year of quarantine?

Here’s What You’ll Need:

One lime wedge

Jalapeno coins

2 ounces blanco tequila

½ ounce orange liqueur

1 ounce lime juice

1/2 ounce agave syrup

Garnish: salt rim

AZTECA COCKTAIL

A bit more boozy and unique, especially for classic tequila drinks, Mix that Drink’s Azteca Cocktail is smooth, sweet, and perfect for after-meal sipping. This drink brings together flavors of orange, chocolate, and Kahlua into one, delicious dessert cocktail.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

1 ounce white creme de cacao

1 dash orange curacao

1 ounce Kahlua

1 1/2 ounces white tequila

MEXICAN MULE

Cupcakes and Cutlery’s tequila take on a Moscow Mule is both delicious and simple. This cocktail only requires three ingredients and will always be a favorite for many palates and profiles.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

1 ½ ounces tequila

Juice from one lime

2-3 ounces Ginger Beer

LA PINATA

Created by well-known bartender Ted Gibson, the La Pinata is as refreshing, tongue-tantalizing,  and spring-tasting as a drink can get. The heat of one serrano pepper, along with the pineapple juice and cilantro is simply a chef’s kiss combination. Gibson’s recipe includes serrano-infused Blanco tequila, this can be done by dropping slices of tequila into your tequila bottle and letting it sit for a few hours. And voila! Spicy tequila!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

2 ounces serrano-infused blanco tequila

1 ounce fresh pineapple juice

3/4 ounce lime juice

1/2 ounce agave syrup

2 pineapple leaves

1 lime wheel

3 sprigs cilantro, leaves torn

CLASSIC CHELADA

This recipe by A Couple Cooks is an excellent beer cocktail, perfectly paired with your favorite kind of tacos. Nothing could be simpler than this beer, lime, and salt pairing, but sometimes simple is best. And remember, glassware is everything in terms of aesthetics, so make sure to pour this drink into your favorite glass to feel extra fancy!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

12 ounce Mexican lager beer

1 ounce (2 tablespoons) lime juice

1 pinch salt

Ice

For the rim: 1 tablespoon each fine sea salt and Old Bay (or tajin)

PALOMA

Second only to a margarita, a Paloma is classic tequila goodness in a glass. Where a Margarita depends on lime and sometimes orange for its citrusy base, Palomas fall back on the tart flavor profile of pink grapefruit. Oh, and it makes it pretty to look at too! Liquor.com’s take on this classic is refreshing as citrus always is, and is the perfect combination of sweet and tart.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

2 ounces tequila

1/2 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed

Grapefruit soda, chilled, to top

Garnish: lime wheel

Garnish: salt rim (optional)

Tall, sweet, and handsome, Delish’s Tequila Sunrise is simply delicious. The beauty of this cocktail comes from the mixing, so make sure to follow the recipe. By mixing the tequila and orange juice in the glass first, then adding in the grenadine creates a stunning sunset-like red to orange gradient as the grenadine sinks to the bottom of the glass. Polish your drink off with a garnish and a glass straw and sip away!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Ice

4 oz. orange juice

2 oz. silver tequila

1/2 oz. grenadine

Orange slice, for garnish

Maraschino cherry, for garnish
