Starting off this list of new cocktail bars Detroit 2024 is an intimate option that has family at the roots. The Gilbert family is bringing forth Saksey’s, a new speakeasy-style cocktail bar to open this spring in Downtown Detroit. Not only will this bar open, but two others backed by the Gilbert family will also exist. 70H2 Hospitality is happy to share this cozy, contemporary Detroit bar space is reportedly named after the Detroit bar owned by billionaire Dan Gilbert’s father in the 1970s. Woodward Avenue is to welcome Saksey’s in the lower level of Gilly’s Clubhouse & Rooftop. This high-end sports bar was created by the Gilbert family in honor of their late son, Nick Gilbert.
