Where to enjoy fall in Detroit? Well, outside is a great start. First up is a park you’ve probably spent several summers reuniting with family and relaxing as your food barbecues. While you’re at Belle Isle, you might as well trek through the Detroit International RiverWalk. Take in the beautiful views of both Detroit and Canada. Detroit Riverfront Conservancy’s intention is to provide visitors with a transformative display of the city’s riverfront space, ultimately making it a uniquely treasured resource with immaculate views. This is the perfect place to take your family, meander along the Detroit River, and bask in the fall colors of the city. Located on Merrill Plaisance Street, this peaceful Motor City park is home to 296 sprawling acres and an array of greenery. Although, the green is pale in comparison to the colored leaves from rows of trees in autumn. Fall colors in Detroit are found in the piles of these vibrant leaves on the ground, which lures visitors.

Who says a cemetery can’t be beautiful? After all, this site highlights only the most divine elements of Detroit, it was not a question to include a certified arboretum right in the city. Elmwood Cemetery has gravesites dating back to the early 1800s. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the cemetery features 91 species of trees to discover.

Last, is a luscious estate that isn’t directly considered metro Detroit but is still a notable sight worth stopping at. Through October, visitors are welcome to explore Cranbrook, which features a striking 1908 mansion and 40 acres of gorgeous gardens. Wander through winding paths where you’ll find fountains, sculptures, and all foliage as you forget about any other plans.
