We couldn’t exclude one of the most beloved parks in Michigan Its close distance makes it a popular place for Detroiters. Kensington Metropark has 4,481 sprawling acres of wooded, hilly terrain that surrounds Kent Lake. Kensington Metro Park is your go-to for that quality fall aesthetic. Not to mention, it’s a heaping dose of the great outdoors. Visit for the array of colors and then get in some of your favorite activities before the cold sweeps in.

This 8.9-mile limestone trail alongside the Paint Creek River ranges from Rochester to Lake Orion.  Thousands of walkers and bikers flock to this spot each year. The incredible views and feeling of being one with nature allow visitors full access to fall color palettes along the entire Paint Creek Trail. Keep the noise to the streets. Open 6 am – 10 pm (year-round), you have plenty of time and space to relax. Quiet the mind and let the colors do the rest.

Visit this popular Motor City park on Merrill Plaisance Street when you could use a little break from city life.  The 296 sprawling acres offer brilliant green spaces.
