Summer may be winding to an end, but one of our favorite holidays, Labor Day, and the weekend that comes with it is just around the corner. As you begin to gear up for the festivities, make a conscious effort to support local Detroit brands as you stay in the comfort of your own home, grill, or have friends over for drinks while we are navigating the impact COVID-19 has cast.

The answer to why it is important to support locally owned businesses in Detroit is easy: locally owned businesses create jobs in the city of Detroit, shopping locally owned businesses gives you the opportunity to make a strong connection with the owner and/or community and it keeps money in the local economy, enriching the whole community.

Support local and look to these Detroit-based companies when shopping for your crowd-pleasing barbecue ingredients and remember – when shopping, always mask up!
