The Fourth Annual Let’s Give Thanks: Harvest Festival is another heartwarming volunteer event in Detroit that’ll get everyone in the festive mood. It’s a first come first serve. BELLE ISLE AQUARIUM NEW VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION
This next volunteer event in Detroit this November is a classic. This opportunity isn’t necessarily just for Thanksgiving. Detroit’s history is interwoven with The Belle Isle Aquarium. Help out in a fun way while being immersed in this historic landmark for the City of Detroit in honor of its 118th birthday. First, you’ll go through training where you’ll learn about the different opportunities and how you can be a part of their volunteer team. You’ll ultimately be helping the institution be open and accessible to the larger community. FRIENDS OF DETROIT ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL
Let’s not forget about our furry friends! Have you found a gift for your own pets yet? Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control oversees its sister organization, Detroit Animal Care and Control. If you’ve ever been interested in getting more involved with helping animals, then you could volunteer to help find a home through the adoption process. On average, the volunteer program assists 4,000 animals every year. The main priority is to ensure homeless animals are equipped to go home with the right caretakers and stay out of the shelter.
