Juneteenth in Detroit celebrations have events that are easy to find/search. Don’t miss out on the 16th annual Juneteenth Family Day Freedom Festival. The festivities will be held in Avalon Village’s eco-village campus. Join in on the family-day finale of the Juneteenth In Detroit weekend, consisting of with Black-owned vendors, kids activities, food, and live performances. Event is free and hosted by the Avalon Village + Juneteenth In Detroit.

JUNETEENTH AT WILSON: THE STORIES OF US CELEBRATION

Juneteenth at Wilson: The Stories of Us celebration, which will be held Friday, June 19 11 AM-3 PM

The event will celebrate Juneteenth with music and dance performances (including African drumming), art, poetry & spoken word, interactive activities and more during a free and family-friendly event at Ralph Wilson Park. JUNETEENTH AT THE WRIGHT-PROGRAMS & FAMILY DAY

Juneteenth in Detroit celebrations take us to a myriad of places, both physically and mentally. Juneteenth at The Wright Museum is the perfect place to be immersed in Black history and culture. Join in for the annual Juneteenth Bike Ride at 10:30am in partnership with Cycle Detroit! Through a rich blend of live performances, storytelling, film, music, and community dialogue, Juneteenth at the Wright offers an immersive experience that connects past to present. Be present and engage with artists, historians, and cultural practitioners that continue to display a vision of freedom and justice. FOX THEATRE DETROIT JUNETEENTH EVENT

Juneteenth celebrations in Detroit can be quite theatrical! The historic Fox Theatre hosts a Juneteenth event on Friday, June 19, as part of metro Detroit’s 2026 summer events lineup. The Olympia Entertainment venue’s program features performances and community celebrations honoring Black history and freedom in one of the most iconic theatres and music venues in Detroit.
