You may already believe you’ve done ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING to keep yourselves occupied during Quarantine, but we doubt you’ve exhausted all options.

Because we love our readers, here are 6 options to keep yourself moving and shaking with minimal required tools to do the job.

COOK TOGETHER

Since grocery shopping is essential, look up a recipe, get the items required, and then create a new dish! Not only can you explore new types of food while in Quarantine, but you can also become a better cook with fewer options available in the culinary department. If you’re alone in your social distancing, hop on a video call with a friend and cook. Just try not to get distracted and burn your soup. That’s speaking from experience.

THROW A DANCE PARTY

For fans of music streaming services and during this time of COVID-19, we’re lucky to have millions of songs at our disposal. So, create a playlist of upbeat songs, get those endorphins awake and wigglin’, and have yourself a dance party a la Quarantine. If you want to do it with a friend that isn’t in your household, get on a video call, or create and exchange playlists for your listening pleasure. Just make sure when setting this idea up with friends that they have the same streaming service you do, or they may have to copy the playlist manually.

BINGE WATCH A SERIES OR COLLECTION OF FILMS

Want to sit through all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Or is Middle Earth’s ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogies more your speed? Whatever your poison, dive into the stories these creative minds have put together for our viewing pleasure, and get lost within their world. (Psst… You can watch all of ‘Lord of the Rings’ in one day if you’re committed.)

TRY NEW (ACCESSIBLE) THINGS

Was there something you wanted to learn how to do that you haven’t gotten around to yet? Maybe it’s your chance to give it a try. Have an instrument but haven’t learned how to play? Now is your chance to start? Want to dive into Tarot, and you ordered a book on your Kindle app but haven’t read it yet? Get to reading! There are tons of possibilities in the land of Quarantine.

DOWNLOAD TIKTOK, MAKE FUNNY VIDEOS

TikTok is the new Snapchat. The people that aren’t in the know about it think it’s some sort of badge of shame, like “I’m bored, but not bored enough to download Tiktok.” The fun part about TikTok is that you can connect with those around you as the app tends to geo-match, as well as brings out the creativity in making a video under 60 seconds. Take it from people like local Curtis Roach, who created a simple song called “Bored in the House” and ended up connecting with former Kardashian boyfriend Tyga, who cut a verse for the song. The simplest thing can become viral, the trick is to find your niche and flesh it out! (P.S. It’s especially fun for families to create together, surprisingly. Take @mmmjoemele for example, who films with his parents and gets his dad to cosplay)

WORK ON YOUR PHYSICAL HEALTH

There are tons of apps that can offer you instruction on different workouts, but when it comes to situations such as the one we’re in now with Coronavirus, you may want to do something that’s calming and will help your peace of mind. Snag a Yoga App or look up poses online and try them out if you’ve never done Yoga before. Make sure you stay flexible while at home!
