RALPH C. WILSON JR. CENTENNIAL PARK
Major development projects in Detroit include places we know and love. It also includes spaces you can visit now since opening earlier in 2025. Detroitisit got a private tour of Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park days before its grand opening on October 25. This grand 22-acre space is transforming the city’s riverfront. Open to the public, it now welcomes Detroiters to four distinct zones of recreation, reflection, and riverfront connection. This $80 million investment has been eight years in the making. GORDIE HOWE INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE
Gordie Howe Bridge development took root in 2018 and is nearing completion. The bridge connecting Detroit to Windsor is nearly 100% complete, but the opening has been delayed to 2026. The latest news surrounding the bridge involved officials reporting that a driver accidentally drove over the in-progress/construction bridge in October of this year! The final phase focuses heavily on testing the bridge’s technological systems to ensure readiness for operation.
THE NOMAD HOTEL
Nomads and everyone else are welcome to enjoy their stay at NoMad Detroit. This luxury hotel is planned to open in 2027 at Michigan Central Station. This luxury hotel, part of Hilton’s portfolio, will occupy the top five floors (14-18) of the station’s tower and will have a design feature that includes contributions from local Detroit artists and makers. GREEKTOWN DETROIT’S MONROE STREET REVAMP
Nothing stops Detroiters, not even major developments under construction. Word on the street is that Monroe Street gets a $20M pedestrian revamp by 2026. This means lane closures and other traffic to watch out for. The final result of these streetscape projects on Monroe and Randolph streets in the historic Greektown district will be worth it!
