*Due to the federal appeals court ruling on Wednesday, June 23, there is a delay implementation of a judge’s order that would have allowed indoor gyms to reopen in Michigan beginning at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, June 25. Detroitisit will share any additional updates surrounding gyms reopening, upon availability.
After a long three months of gym closures, Detroit gyms have finally received the green light for reopening their doors and offering indoor workouts. Although Governor Whitmer has appealed the decision to a higher court due to concerns of another COVID-19 outbreak, many Detroit gyms still have plans to reopen. On Thursday, June 25, gyms will begin to reopen.
Here is a list of five Detroit gyms planning to reopen and what they are going to do to keep gym members and employees safe:

Every athlete has their own 4×6 mat that is placed 6 feet apart for social distancing.
Outdoor classes are also available online through live streaming for those who would like to attend from the comfort of their own home. The date for reopening indoor classes is still to be determined.
