Celebrate National Small Business Week in Detroit this week and beyond for a real impact. The good news about Detroit’s small businesses is that the list keeps on growing, and the advocacy does too! Although the week is short and has already begun, you can take this information into the rest of the month and year with a greater appreciation for those who work diligently to create alternative paths for providing for their community.
The annual National Small Business Week for this year runs through May 4-10 to recognize the dedicated entrepreneurs and small business owners as well as startups who contribute much to the economy. Get involved in-person in the Detroit/metro area as well as virtually for anything else that the country can benefit from.
Government resources and programs are becoming more available to assist entrepreneurs & small business owners in navigating their leadership and financial responsibilities. These individuals are then able to handle taxes with a better grip.
Network, advocate, diversify business leadership, celebrate, shop & sell to help create more capital. Participate in enriching events and be a mentor and/or be a mentor to others in local business, and even start a business of your own!
UNDERSTANDING NATIONAL SMALL BUSINESS WEEK
National Small Business Week is an annual celebration that recognizes the contributions of entrepreneurs and small business owners, typically held in the first week of May. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) organizes the week filled with various events like virtual summits, awards ceremonies, and networking opportunities. In 2025, National Small Business Week is May 4 to May 10, 2025. All SBA programs and services are extended to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis.
