Detroit Youth Organizations Are Narrowing in on Areas That Have Potential for Long-Lasting Shine

Detroit youth organizations are important for us all to support, get involved with, and spread the word about because the city knows its youth are the ones that will make the big community decisions. Detroit has made tremendous progress in gathering resources, tools, and supportive programs to jumpstart the younger generations in not just career success, but life success, including their current growth development.

Detroitisit rounded up a stellar list of Detroit youth organizations, including a couple of other programs focused on black youth to keep an eye on in 2023 and beyond. It’s always uplifting to know there are people looking out for the future of Detroit even when times are tough.

Detroit youth should be hyped up! After all, they are our next leaders. This is an organization as much as it is a movement that gives youth the resources and community to better navigate the path towards adulthood. THE SKILLMAN FOUNDATION

Detroit youth organizations have provided quality programs for years and continue to evolve to raise the standards. Since 1960, The Skillman Foundation has transformed the lives of Detroit youth by reimagining education systems, so that an individual’s natural power can shine through. Stay updated on their socials and blog to see how they’re creating a ground-building strategy to invest in the power of young people by supporting a strong youth organizing field in Detroit. granted over $ 730 million and have served as a vocal advocate to strengthen K-12 education, afterschool programming, child-centered neighborhoods, youth and community leadership, and racial equity and justice. THE IMAGINE MENTORING PROGRAM

 The IMAGINE Mentoring Program has been empowering youth since 2010 with the intention to teach young women who have experienced trauma to imagine the power of their potential, increase their self-esteem through self-awareness, and encourage them to pursue their dreams in spite of the obstacles they face in their lives. Their vision is to position the IMAGINE Mentoring Program as a global initiative that meets the needs of young women around the world who desire change, by providing impactful programming, mentoring, education, and empowerment. DETROIT IMPACT YOUTH

Mentoring children since 1991, Detroit Impact Youth is a youth center established to work with youth in our community through mentorship. More specifically, they’re a 501(c) (3) non-profit charitable organization operating as a part of a vision of community development, focusing on Detroit’s West side neighborhoods. This is a cooperative effort with parents, churches, schools, the business community, and neighborhood residents. Keep an eye on new programs in 2023 that are made possible with your support! BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN

The Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Michigan (BGCSEM) is an exemplary Detroit youth organization that reaches a wider community. This is your go-to for experiencing an impact on youth, families, and entrepreneurs. Not to mention, it’s a safe space and a cool gathering spot! They’ve been around since 1926 and continue to provide the black community with the economic, cultural, and social capital needed for a successful career and home life.
