The  23rd edition festival mingles with Memorial Day weekend and runs from Saturday, May 25-Monday, May 27. The weekend festivities are a mix of people gatherings. Eclectic crowds of electronic dance music lovers arrive from all over for Detroit’s Movement Music Festival, which sparks a lot of party celebrations surrounding it. Locals and visitors may be wondering where to go in Detroit for “pre-parties & after-parties” throughout the long weekend. 

There are some intimate bars/lounge bars, and cool restaurants in the birth of Techno, Detroit that are well-prepared for the block party festivities. WHAT IS MOVEMENT?

At the ‘Hart’ of Detroit, the party surges up at the urban park, Hart Plaza in Detroit. From the Movement Stage to the Waterfront Stage, there will be plenty of action rising in the open air. Detroit’s Movement Musical Festival isn’t the only electric lineup! Woman-owned independent clothing boutique, Coup D’état is hosting an eye-popping “Festival Style Lounge” that’ll help you “lock in your look” for Movement Detroit 2024. Not to mention, shop owner, Angela Wisniewski-Cobbina announced moves of her own! Her store will be relocated from New Center to LANTERN on Kercheval in Detroit. This celebratory list for Detroit’s Movement Music Festival 2024 hits all the spots. Detroit’s Movement pre-parties & after-parties wouldn’t be complete without Neptunian Influence’s 10-year closing party at McShane’s Irish Pub in Detroit. Their lineup includes Titonton Duvanté, Ectomorph, Ole Mic Odd, and DJ Phantasea. Tickets are $25 at the door (cash only). Get ready for the 3x full bars inside and then take the party outside for drink specials on their outdoor patio party.
