December still has lots of magic and theatrics in the air. Cirque du Soleil is putting on a holiday spectacular you’ve got to experience. Twas The Night Before Christmas is a classic tale of friendship and kindness. This intense musical needs no introduction. The cherished, ornately-decorated venue doesn’t either. What better place to enjoy the incredible Les Miserables performance than at the Fisher Theatre? 12 PLAYS OF XMAS + MORE IN 2023
Theater shows in Detroit this winter are a taste of the performing arts scene in Detroit. Mark your calendar for future performances! The Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit’s Black Box Theatre’s critically acclaimed student-driven performances and national and international tours have garnered worldwide attention. Today, hundreds of youth from more than 50 Metro Detroit schools participate in Mosaic’s First, Second, and Main Stage programs every year. They’re putting on a micro-play holiday festival. DETROIT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
The Christmas festivities in Detroit were amped up all throughout December. Although the year is coming to an end, you can still see Detroit Theater shows these next couple of months to help you have fun in the winter. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra-Home For The Holidays is coming to an end, but there are other beautiful performances this winter that would make for a thoughtful gift or another cozy outing. Visit this cherished Orchestra Hall for classical sounds made new, such as these January events: RESPECT Film in Concert (Jan. 4), Music of the Beatles (begins Jan. 6), or the Sibelius First Symphony (begins Jan. 19). AIDA IN CONCERT
Don’t miss this all-star cast that will be on stage performing at the Detroit Opera House for the first time in nearly a decade. Angel Blue will be singing Aida along with other superstar performers.
