Lisa Gilpin, Social Media Director, MRM/McCann
Lisa Gilpin has worn many hats in a varied career that has enabled her to bring a comprehensive view on how best to communicate with customers. A start in finance and market research provided her with a strong analytical base, and roles on both the client and agency side has enabled her with a broad multi-layered perspective. She returned to the U.S. at the end of 2016 after a 3.5 year assignment as social media agency lead for Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe, in Italy and Germany respectively.
Courtney Larvadain, Founder, Glow Social Media
Courtney Larvadain is the Founder of Glow Social Media, a digital content and social media marketing firm. Courtney began her social media career at The Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida, in 2009 after graduating with her MBA from Florida A&M University. Outside of managing her team at Glow, Courtney was proud to be the 2017 Athena PowerLink Award recipient. She currently sits on the Board of the Detroit chapter of Women In Digital. She also is co-host of a Lansing-based networking event, The Drinking Lunch. A Lansing, Michigan native, Courtney now lives in Metro Detroit with her husband and son where she enjoys fitness, reading and family vacations. Find her on Instagram @MakiLane!
Torri Smith, Intermediate Designer, ROSSETTI
Torri Smith is an architectural designer and fine artist current living, working and creating within the city of Detroit and its design culture. Torri currently works with Rossetti Architects (Detroit) and Interboro Partners (New York) and in her free time works out of her studio in Woodbridge. As a designer, her formal fine arts training regularly influences her design work and fuels her main objective; create both spaces and works of art that inspire, excite and engage with those experiencing them. She also recently finished a solo exhibit “Constructs of Romantic Discord”; a series of oil paintings centered around the millennial women’s relationship with social media and deeper look into personal reflections, at the Detroit Center for Design and Technology in midtown.
Your digital talent makes you one of the most powerful women on the planet. Together, we join to share our knowledge, to inspire each other, and to be empowered by that strength. Our mission is to connect women in digital through engaging and educational events, and to enable them with the confidence and tools necessary to exchange their power. Learn more about Women in Digital here.
“I recently attended my first Women in Digital meet up and it was unlike any other ‘networking’ event. While every person in the room was there in a professional capacity, there was an undercurrent of shared values, shared struggles, and shared desire for change.
It was a powerful experience to see women band together to raise each other up in a way that only women can. I can’t recommend joining Women in Digital enough. This is a professional community that feels like the home we never knew we needed, but have always been seeking.” – Alaura Weaver, Copywriter + Content Strategist
